Issue Position

I would like to give my perspective of illegal immigration and the noticeable effects it can have on the job market. My wife came to this country legally and became a U.S. Citizen the right way, the way our laws have been laid out for citizenship. The laws to become a citizen are in place, if there is a problem with these rules then lets get it fixed, if it is because the process is too slow then we need to combine the abilities of our agencies to expedite the process and cut through red tape, the answer is not in age slot amnesty, the particular age slot that is being given amnesty is also the same age slot that will compete the most with our children and graduates for the few jobs that are available, as our government allows illegals to continue to cross our borders almost unhindered, they are also giving away the jobs that our children and graduate's need for their start into the work force. When the illegals enter this country they have the same dream that we have had, that our children will have and they too want to prosper, they want to send their money back home so their family can have a better life, they want to find better jobs, make more money and move up the ladder of success, but through their actions of coming into this country illegally they are predetermined to work limited sectors of our community, farm and ranch work, harvests, landscape, construction, painting, roofing, labor jobs etc, These happen to be the same jobs that millions of Americans need to support our families, having a job that had me working around legal and illegals when I was younger opened my eyes to the process of illegals taking good paying jobs, businesses lowering their wages because they could get the illegals to work for about 30 to 50% less in wages, then we were held hostage and our wages dropped. With out bringing politics or political motivations into the picture, we are losing an astounding amount of tax monies and real economic stimulus for our economy to the illegals, this translates to American wealth being outsourced.
